Cambridge University Newnham Postgraduate Studentships for MPhil or PhD Students 2019
The University of Cambridge is currently accepting applications for the Newnham Studentships for the 2019/20 academic year. Every year, Newnham offers a number of substantial studentships for students registered or about to register for an M.Phil or Ph.D., up to three years duration.
These studentships may be held in conjunction with partial support from other sources, including the Cambridge Trust, GATES Funding or Faculty funding.
Worth of Award
Studentships are between £3,000 and £12,000 per year.
Candidates for an award will be expected for fulfil the following conditions (in addition to the requirements specified by the University):
- Admission by Graduate Admissions as a graduate student starting an M.Phil. or Ph.D.
- Membership or intended membership (meaning where possible you must put Newnham as your “first choice” College on your graduate application) of Newnham College.
- Current first-year Ph.D. students at Newnham College are also eligible to apply.
- A First Class or High II.1 Honours degree, or its equivalent, or a distinction in a Master’s degree, by the date of starting the course of study.
How to Apply
Students applying to Graduate Admissions should indicate on their Graduate Admissions application form that they wish to be considered for Cambridge Scholarships, and enter Newnham in the free text.
Deadline: The deadline to apply for this award is 28th January or 1st April 2019. There will be two rounds of funding, but those that apply by 28th January will automatically be considered in the second round, if unsuccessful in the first.
