The University of Arusha is a higher education school that operates on the Seventh-Day Adventist ideology (Wholistic Education) and policy to accomplish its mission locally and globally. It was founded in 1970 as a ministerial training institution for SDA church workers, and it was elevated to college status in 1978. (Tanzania Adventist Seminary and College). TAC was associated with Griggs University in 1994, and its metamorphosis into a university began in 2003, when HEAC, now TCU, issued it a Letter of Interim Authority (LIA). TCU fully authorized the University as a graduate university after it got a certificate of Provisional Registration No. 16 in 2004. In 2009 the University of Arusha submitted the first four graduate programs to the TCU for accredition in education and business.
